Back to School...

OMdog, OMdog, OMdog!!! I'm so excited!!! You pups just don't know how excited I am!!! Do you know what I did last night? Do you? Can you guess? I WENT BACK TO SCHOOL!!!! Yay!!! Whoot!!!

I know, I know some pups don't like school, but I LOVE IT!!!! I love my teacher Miss Cindy, I love the toys and I love the dogs! My Mom surprised me last night by going to a refresher course! Yipee!!!

I thought for sure after the 'bed' incident at lunch that she was going to drop me off at the pound or something, but no...we went to school!!! Yay!!! Whoot!!!

So first off we got to play when we got there. I got to play with a beagle named Bella, a corgi named Fergie and a Jack Russell, named, oh I can't remember his name. There was also a puggy girl and I thought OMdog...it's my BFF Suki...but I quickly realized it wasn't because she had a collar and I know Suki lost her collar. The puggy's name was Zoya and she was fun to chase. Yipee!!!

So after playtime we started class. In class this week there were 2 other dogs...a fluffy dog that looked like Bella only he was a boy named Shakey and my old friend from another class Izzie who is a Tibetian terrier and really liked to bark. Since it was a refresher class we worked on Sit-Stays, Down-Stays, Come and Heel. I did great with everything but Heels. For some reason I just don't like to do Heels...they bug me...why can't I just walk they way I want to and not pay attention to Mom all the time. Geezzee!

So it was fun, fun, fun and what's more is I get to go back for 5 more weeks!!! Yipee!!! Hopefully Mom will take some pictures next time. She said it was too hard to work with me and take pictures at the same time...clearly she's in need of some training! Anyhowl...gotta go practice my Heels!!! Have a great weekend!

Note From Michele, Ruby's Mom:
I'm so fortunate, our trainer Cindy at The Right Steps is the absolute best and when she has extra room in class she always thinks of me and Ruby. The last class we took was back in February, so it was so interesting to see how she got right back into training mode. I work with her a lot, but not as much as I should so this is a nice refresher for both of us. The greatest thing to see is how nicely she plays with all the other dogs, especially the puppies. She was the oldest dog there at 13months and she really did great! I wouldn't go so far as to say she was calm (Ha!), but she was definitely a little calmer! We'll keep you posted on our progress.

Hi, Ruby.
I'd love to go to school like you! But here we don't have doggie schools.

Hi Ruby,
Same as Lorenza, we don't have doggie schools over here. If there is one, I'm sure I'd love to go.
Another small secret for you, your bed incident happened to me before. Isn't it just nice having those things flung up high and all those white white stuffs flying all over!!!

i have never ever been to school, you make it sound pretty great!

How fun! Roxie went to school but dropped out when Mom adopted Sammy. Mom didn't want to leave him at home during the classes since he was new and would feel abandoned. We know you are just the best student there!

Skool! I LOVE Skool! My mom keeps saying she's going to take me back for a refresher course, too, but I haven't seen any action yet. Do you get lots of kookies?

Nope, that puggy wasn't me. Trust me, if it had been, we wouldn't have been working at all! We would've broken free from our moms, stolen their plastic card thingies and gone out on a shopping trip for a new collar for me and a new bed for you! :)

Puggy kisses

Hey Ruby, I didn't like school much but that was because I was the naughty boy in the class. In fact I was so bad that I repeated the course twice! J x

The playtime sounds REALLY fun ... but none of us are real big into doing what we're told. Is that important at your school?

That sounds like so much fun, Ruby! My Mom is trying to find an agility class for me so her and I can have fun with just the 2 of us - no hounds allowed!

Oh Ruby, it sounded like you had a good 1st day of school! I don't like school that much especially when I'm asked to do OB, it's so boooooring especially the stays. You agree with me??? And the heeling, why do we have to walk in a straight line, shoulders must be a lined with their legs & we must walk as close as possible & of course, not pull on a leash too??? Okay, if they don't want us to pull the leash, we won't but why do we still have to walk "perfectly" with out owners. That makes no sense to me r anyone else... Does it to you? I like Agility tho. Hehehe! I'm starting my Intermediate class again next week, boohoo...

Hey Roobaloo (I was going to type Rubaloo, but I wasn't sure the oooooo would come across, so I went with the phonetic option .... anyway....)

I don't heel very well either. Well, I do heel, but not with the person walking me. I heel with the person ahead of us. Doesn't matter who it is. And if there's no one ahead of us to heel with, I look for cats. My mom has just given up. I knew I would break her eventually.

Ruby, go check out this dog name thingie on my blog - I posted the link to it.
I looked up your name and it mentions something about separation anxiety. Hmmm...maybe that's why your beds keep getting demolished? ;)

Ya for school! I don't like to heel either........I want to get there faster than my mom can walk, so I just help her out a little.

I know you will do great Ruby, I mean you should be teaching the class in no time!

So glad that you love the school Ruby! I guess the saying is true for me...you can't teach an old dog new tricks...but you are so young, you'll do well there:)

Can't wait to see a video of you doing your new tricks:)

BIG hugs from Billy Boo:)
