Whale Watch...UPDATE

UPDATE: Oh no, the whalies are hurt! Both the Momma whale and the baby whale have owies. The whale doctors are saying that they have gashes from propellers from a boat. Today they are starting to try and move them towards the ocean by using whale noises...like whalies eating. There isn't much food the whalies like in fresh water, so they need to hurry up back to the ocean soon so they don't starve. Poor whalies...

I'm not angry anymore at my Mom for not taking me to visit the whalies...she told me they need to focus on getting back to the ocean. If I came they would be distracted and the baby whalie would want to play with me...I want them to get home, so I'll just watch them on TV.

Here's some more info on the whalies: KCRA TV

Since Suki was talking about a very 'excited' dolphin today, I thought I'd chime in about some aquatic excitement going on here in Sacramento. It seems there is a humpback mommy whale and a humpback baby whale swimming in the Sacramento River (this IS very unusual). They were discovered on Tuesday and just keep swimming. They seem to be lost and everyone is afraid they are sick or something. I want to go to the river and visit them...but my Mom is a meany and says no. Poor whaley...

How exciting Ruby. You should sulk until your meany mom lets you go talk to the whales.

Aw, I hope they can get them to turn round and go out to sea, poor whales. One died in London last year when it swam up the Thames.

Wow, that whale looks kinda scary to us. We are easily frightened by things in the water. Heck, even the water itself frightens us. We sure hope those poor guys can make it back to the ocean OK, and we hope their owies heal up and they are all better real soon!

I heard about the whales too. I live in southern california and I wanted to see the whales too. I hope they are going to be alright I will say doggie prayers.

Maybe they should take you out on a boat that the whales will follow you! We would follow you because we know you wouldn't do anything to hurt us!

Thanks for stopping by our blog. It's always nice to see comments from you!

We had some beluga whales swim into the Delaware river near us last year. Poor confused whales. I offered to help herd them back out to the ocean but the ma ape said NO. Our moms are so mean.

Maybe they're looking for YOU, Ruby! You should go and run along the bank and show them how to get home!

Lorenza said... 2:39 PM

Hi, Ruby. We knew about the whales because there was a report in the tv news. I feel so sorry for them. I hope people can guide them to the ocean soon.
Would be awesome that you could go there and see them.
Have a nice day!
