New Friend?

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Allow me to introduce you to a new friend. He's not a stuffie or a wheelie...heck, I'm not quite sure what he is. Introducing Alistair.
IMG_0003.JPG
He's kind of, well, um, weird. First off, he doesn't really move much. His head kind of bobs up and down when I try to kiss him. But the rest of him doesn't move at all.

IMG_0007.JPG

Also, he didn't sniff my butt...that's really strange if you ask me.

Than there is his giant empty belly. I don't get it. I told Mom he looked hungry, but she said she needed to go to the store to get him a plant for his belly...I guess that means he's a vegetarian which is pawsome for me since I won't need to worry about him eating any of my foodables.

He really didn't want to play much...so I just let him be and I went and lounged in the sun.

Rubinator!!!

I think Alistair must be retarded. If he's not doing flips over your smooches, then he's definitely brain dead.

You look lovely lounging in the sun by the way.

Goober love & smooches,
Stanny

Mack said... 5:28 PM

I agree with Stanley!!

I do kinda think his face is handsome though. I bet he's a Boston.

Maybe a plant in his belly will cheer him up!

Bye sweetie,
Mack

Hi Ruby!

Your new friend Alistair looks pretty, well... um, cold... and not very active?... Very interesting... I've never seen anything quite like him! I bet he'll look nicer with a full belly...

Too bad you didn't have him a week or so ago. Alistair could have entered the Scary Eye contest!

Hi Ruby,
Alistair is one 'cool' dude.. Hehehe.. I doubt you'll get much fun out of playing with him though. What's important is that he does not steal your food!

Pug(s) and Bugg said... 5:27 AM

What a weird looking friend! I agree that there should be cookies in that empty belly. Good luck getting your friend to play!

Deefor said... 5:50 AM

Hi Ruby
He reminds me of some of the fake animals my bad brother Arrow barks at. At least they're not in my house. Maybe Alastair wants to go out. And stay out. Kinda scary looking.

Thanks for participating in the contest, Ruby!!! Tell all your doggie friends- the more the merrier!

(Or maybe just tell your stupid doggie friends so you won't have any real competition.)

Ruby...give Alistair a chance to warm up...perhaps the hot sun??? I had a torrid affair with Dunstan, one of Jackson's wheelies and he's made of plastic or metal or something....

I have two thoughts for his belly...

You could have your mom fill that big empty thingie up with ur kibble with some chicken and rice added to make it even better???

Or if a plant is necessary...

PERHAPS A BOSTON FERN???

Oh my...it's hard to be so clever first thing in the morning....

Giggles...

Petra said... 7:16 AM

Alistair looks like he needs help of some kind; I hope your mom's idea works!

Anonymous said... 7:39 AM

Hey Rub, maybe Hedy could play with Alistar they sort of resemble each other. I think kibble in the belly definitely.

Ruby!
So nice to meet you. Asta (up over) mentioned that there was a pawty going on "down under" this weekend - I would very much like to RSVP (did so on Putter's blog) and make a reservation for myself and my Jack Russell terrible brother Riley on Aire Ruby if possible. You are a very pretty Boston terrier by the way! I love Bostons AND I live in Boston! I like your new friend; in fact I have a similar friend with a bobbing head - there is a picture of him on my May 12 post honoring Fufu bandana day. My friend, Rufus, plays the Sax and stands up - there is not a place for a plant on him but his head bobs. But I digress when I should be sniffing out my paw-sport for my international travel plans!
woof!
your pal,

He's really cute but kinda skinny, Ruby! We think you should load his tummy up with kibble! Maybe he'll share some with you!

Love ya lots

What a dud. He reminds me of Foley. You are better off taking a nap.

PB 'n J said... 1:59 PM

Hi Ruby! My name is George, I share a blog with my kitty brothers and sister (well, it their blog, but they let me use it - I've been begging Mom for my own!). Anyway, my friend Asta invited me to Putter's birthday party and she said you were the dog to talk to! I hope I can come - is it too late to RSVP?

George

P.S. I think your new friend looks a bit on the quiet side, but nice!

The Brat Pack said... 4:39 PM

OK, we don't think he's too exciting but Mom is in love. She wants to know where you get a friend like this.

Hmmm.... My girl apparently LOVES Alistair, if her ooh-ing and ahh-ing is any indication, but I don't really see the allure. If he doesn't play, bark, or get into trouble with you, I don't really understand why he's there. Maybe the plant that your mom feeds him will grow cookies or steaks or something...?! That would be cool for you!

Anonymous said... 4:48 PM

At least he won't steal your food, unlike someone I know and live with.... Count your blessings, my girl.

Noah the Airedale said... 2:57 AM

The poor thing he must be starving. Look at his empty belly. No wonder he doesn't want to play and he's probably lost his sense of smell too.

We think he's sweet.

Hey Ruby,

Mom finally said we could go to Willow and Putter's pawty.

We see you have lots of reservations already -- so we hope there's still room for us.

Ruby...I have one of those things in my house too. My human calls it a junkyard dog...but ours doesn't have an empty belly. Maybe your human will start growing some flowers in the empty belly. That way you can always count on a little snackie of flowers!

Slurp!

Hi Ruby!

Alistair is ummmm... interesting! I've never seen anything like him before! I'm thinking maybe his belly can hold your treats so that they are always accessible for you and you don't have to rely on the humans for them! That would be great!
Treats all around!!!!!

Smooches,
Winnie :-)
