Time for a Time Capsule

Wednesday, August 01, 2007

I'm a little behind in my tag games. Suki tagged me about a week ago about this and then Momo today...thanks Momo for reminding me...I almost forgot! So....Time Capsules. First off, I really wasn't sure what one was so I googilied it and found on Wikipedia this explanation...

A time capsule is a historic cache of goods and/or information, usually intended as a method of communication with people in the future.

So now the trick is to think about which 5 things are important to future generations of doggies to know what life was like for doggins nowadays. So here's what I came up with, in no particular order.

#1: A copy of Bark MagazineBoth me and Suki can't wait each month to get the latest edition. It has great info and stories with lots of cool things I try and get my Mom to buy me.

#2: Recipes!
Between Nanook's recipe for Frosty Paws & Salmon Cookies; Penny, Sherman & Lola's recipe for Cheesie cookies and all the recipes in the Three Dog Bakery cook books - YUMMO!!!! Pups in the future SO need know about this stuff! Do you think there will be ovens and freezie boxes to make them in the future? I certainly hope so!!!

#3: Pictures!
I'm gonna have to copy Suki on this. I need pictures of all my DWB pals. Doggins in the future need to know how cool we all were...unless there's some super secret government project that will keep us alive furever in which case we'd still all be here! Wouldn't THAT be cool???

#4: Bully Sticks
OK, so how you get them...a little gross, but my DOG they are delicious. Oh and as much as they gross my Mom out, she has no complaints because they keeps me real busy!!!

#5: MUD!!!
Oh how I love me some mud!!! I love to eat it and roll in it and play with it! I just LOVE IT!!! So doggins in the futures must know about mud!

OK, there's 5...let's see, who to tag...how about Joe & Tanner and my Stanny...tell us what would be in your time capsule! Oh, and Lorenza & Coco...I haven't forgotten about your tags. I'll get to them over the weekend!

You are so funny with that mud, Ruby! I haven't had a chance to play in any - YET! I plan on trying it out, though.

Yeah, bully sticks pretty much rock. I love it when I gross my Mom out by dropping a chewed-up, really mushy one on her leg...hehehe!

Puggy kisses
Suki

Hey Ruby,
I've heard all about bully sticks but never seen them. I buy my moms dog (the closest thing I have to my own dog) freeze dried lamb lung though and HE LOVES IT!!!

The mud and bully sticks are a very good idea. I've never tried a bully stick, mom has to go and buy one, so I can try it.

Hi Ruby!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, you're very nice! So, Bark magazine hunh Sounds like something my mom is gonna want to get her paws on - she's a little dog-crazy...just a little. My mom made me some of those frosty paws that Nanook's mom posted. They are YUM-ME! Speaking of which, I think I need one...immediately! *goes wandering off in search of mom*

Hi Ruby!
What great choices for your time capsule!! I also keep hearing all about bully sticks, but I have never gotten to try one yet. Can puppies eat them? What are they made of?

My girl will not buy bully sticks because she thinks the whole idea is disgusting. She also thinks eating poo is disgusting, and we all know how WONDERFUL it really is. *sigh* I'm deprived.

But mud is a GREAT idea!!!!!

We also like Bully sticks and Eve orders them from the net for me.

Could I have that bowl of food. You know, to test it and make sure it's fit for the future? I'm glad you thought about telling the people of the future how awesome we are. They do need to know.

Nice list of things to put in the time capsule...however, I would only put a PICTURE of bully sticks in there.

That would be less for you to eat.
