Ah, the summertime...hot days, balmy nights and trying to take a completely uncooperative pup out out for a stroll. Here's what I mean...

Hey, you're just "warming up" before you exercise, right? I totally get it! You don't want to strain any muscles because then you won't be able to run so fast!

You are so cute, Ruby. I love having my belly rubbed, too :)

Puggy kisses

That pavement looks a bit hot, don't burn yourself! I never stay still when I'm out on walkies, apart from sniffing and leaving pee mail.

Oh Ruby....We've never laid down with a leash on before. We pull the whole time wanting to go faster and faster. We have the opposite problem.

We're exactly like Seadra and Zoe! We're both energizer bunnies that never say die! I've worn every kind of an anti-pull device made! I can't imagine resting on a walkie!

Love ya lots,
Maggie

I know how you feel! I usually love my walkies but when it is too hot I've been known to engage in civil disobedience. I usually plop down in the grass, though.

Hi, Ruby.
So, you did the same thing since you were a little puppy??
Like many of our friends, when is time for a walkie I try to run away... no time for yawns or belly rubs!! I am always in a hurry!!
Have a nice day

Ruby, I do the same thing. Except my girl isn't as cooperative as yours. She just pulls and pulls. And then she ends up dragging me along the sidewalk on my side because I'm stubborn and refuse to get up and she refuses to wait for me. And then everyone thinks she's abusing me and I laugh at her on the inside.

Eventually the humans will learn to go through life by our standards... just keep training them.

Ruby

Are you sure you aren't ging to get arrested for indecent exposure? Those are surely prime candidate shots for 'Girls Gone Wild' Im mean-- 'Dogs Gone Wild' --my bad.
Ok, I've got myself under control--but i can hear faintly in the backgroud--'Its getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes...'LOL

Glad your mom takes you for walks-

Bernard

ohmydog, there goes your mom gain with another cool way to post pictures of you!!!

you are soooo funny - it doesn't look to me like you are very fond of going for a walk! i love them, but big sissy sophie does not. she gets a few houses down the block and starts to panic that we are lost and keeps trying to drag everyone back home. she keeps yelling, "but home is THAT way!!!" she just doesn't get it.

licky licks, coco

You're right it is too hot for a walk but not too hot for a belly rub :)

Luckie Girl said... 6:41 PM

Hey Ruby,
I do that belly rub on pavement thingy too. And it's free for all. Any hooman can do that. I'm not choosy. haha...

Ruby, you are simply too cute for words!!! But yes, I think all walkies should begin with a nice belly rub. Good thinking!! I got a question... isn't the pavement kinda hot to be lying on it like that?? You don't wanna burn your butt !!

Ouch! I hope you're bum bum was not getting cooked on that pavement. No wonder you look so depressed when it's time to go for a walkie on a hot summer day *sigh* Poor you!

Love licks,

Ruby My Ruby!!

Thanks for the belly shots... always a crowd pleaser! I see what you mean (about us being alike). Nothing hardly feels better than to do what you want to do when you want to do it. I get it. And, if it involves a nice stretch, a little wriggling around AND a belly rub, all the better.

You were the cutest puppy girl, and have grown into quite a striking young lassie! (Wait, you're not a Lassie, but a lassie - just so we're clear - I don't think you're a collie or anything).

Think of it this way... at least you're providing for some consistency and stability in your mom's life. You know, hoomans need a lot of that if they're going to behave. That way they know what to expect.

Your Goober boy,
Stanny
