Interview with a Boston...

Friday, September 28, 2007

Last week Balboa posted about being interviewed by Rowan and I thought it was a really cool idea and asked to be interviewed too. Balboa is a really hard-hitting investigative journalist. His questions were really tough! Here's an excerpt from our interview...

Balboa: What do you like best about being a dog?

Ruby: Well, Balboa I don't know anything else so I like EVERYTHING best - hee, hee, hee. Actually, I like NOT having to work. I like that I can sniff other dogs butts and no one thinks I'm weird. I like footie massages from my Auntie Yvette, I like bully sticks and I like snuggling with my Mom. If a hooman tried these things (I guess except for the work and the snuggle thing - but my Mom is very particular on who she snuggles with) they would probably get sent away to the crazy house!

Balboa: If you were elected President of the United States, what three things would you do first? Why?

Ruby: Balboa, this is a very important question. I've thought a lot about it. Now I'm not saying I'm going to run or anything, so don't get the wrong idea, ok? But I do have some very definite opinions...

My Fellow Americans...I am not a Boston Terrier...opps, yes I am!

A while back a friend of mine, let's just call him S. made a very good observation. How is it that so many of us...all different breeds and even different species can manage to get along? Well I agree with S. and if I were President I would make sure that our county would settle our differences in a civilized way, just like us pups do. To ensure this, I would pass legislation which would outlaw wars of any kind.

Next, I would pass a Zero Tolerance law that would punish any stoopid hooman who commits acts of neglect, abuse or abandonment to any animal! It is inexcusable and just plain wrong. I don't think that needs much more explanation, do you? Take THAT Michael Vick!!!

And finally let me tell you about this family in Texas. They are five very cheery pups, all different kinds (no, I'm not talking about the Jolie-Pitts) with lots of special needs. They are a special family and their Mom has done a lot to ensure their health, happiness and quality of life. Without her, who knows what would have happened to these pups! For people like her as well as the average pet owner who is willing to give of their lives I feel there should be a tax deduction (much like what hoomans get for having people pups). I feel very strongly about this, especially for families who have dedicated their lives to helping rescue pups from horrible fates.

As you can see Balboa, I have thought a lot about this and many other things, but like I said this shouldn't be taken as a statement of my candidacy. Got it?

Balboa: Would you choose a forty-minute foot massages by Auntie Yvette or a box of forty cuzes? Explain your answer.

Ruby: I hope Joe doesn't think less of me, but I'd have to say a forty-minute footie massage from Auntie Yvette...and not a second less!!! I love my Auntie Yvette...she's probably my most favorite person next to my Mom of course. And she's the only person who I'll let give me footie massages..it's our thing. I love the way her little (stinky-hee, hee, hee) feet tickle my tummy...love, love, love.

Balboa: You've been asked to design the "perfect" doggie toy, what would come up with?

Ruby: What a great job that would be!!! I would have to say it would be the perfect combination of something bouncy, something stuffy, something I could chew and something I could chase. Oh and it would need to taste/smell like salmon and never die. Oh, I'm just drooling thinking about it, aren't you???

Balboa: What would you describe as the perfect date for you and your beau Stanley?

Ruby: You know Balboa, I'm a simple girl. I think an evening with my Stanny would be a quiet night...first we'd have dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant.

Ruby and the Stan

Next we could come back to my place where we'd work off that huge plate of spaghetti and meatballs by wrasslin and a mean game of bitey face. Mom would give us a frosty paw or maybe a homemade cookie to share. Than me and my Stanny would snuggle up in front of the fire and nap. Doesn't that sound nice? I'm sure your Fig would enjoy an evening like that too...hey maybe we could double date sometime???

Thanks Balboa for the fine interview. And you didn't even make me cry like that Barbara Walters lady! Hey, if there are any pups out there who would like me to interview them, let me know. Here's how to play...

These are the rules:
1. If you are interested in being interviewed, leave me a comment saying, 'interview me.'
2. I will respond by posting five questions for you. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with a post containing your answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

I am such a Luckie girl...

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

I always knew I was lucky, but now I am 100% sure. Wanna know why? Well, it is because my pal, my co-winner of the August DWB Featured Blog - Luckie, sent me the most pawsome prezzie all the way from Singapaw!!! I was so surprised to come how from Asta's pawty yesterday (BTW, did you see the photos on Asta's site? They are AMAZING) and found this envelope in the mail...
Look at how nice I'm posing, I could be a super model, couldn't I???

Let me show you what I gots...there was Mr. Nanner...
I was a little impatient with all the posing (OK, maybe I'm not cut out to be a super model?)

And this yummy cookie...
Well, I think it is yummy...I actually don't know because Mean Mommy (Ruby's Mom: Hey, that's not nice!) wouldn't let me try any! (Ruby's Mom: In my defense, you had just gotten home from Asta's party and had eaten a bunch of snacks there...I didn't want you to be sick! Ruby: Whatever! La, la, la...I'm not listening to you!)

I also got these salmon treats...I just LOVE salmon...

But of course, no salmon for me...blah - blah - blah! I sure better get some tonight...you hear that Mean Mommy! (Ruby's Mom: La, la, la I'm not listening to you!)

Oh and Luckie's Mom even sent something to my Mean Mommy (Ruby's Mom: Enough with the Mean Mommy already! How does no salmon snacks sound to you?). Excuse me, Luckie's Mom even sent something to my bootiful, loving, generous Mom. It really looks yummy...
I hope I get a taste of this!

Anyhowl...thank you so much Luckie and Luckie's Mom...first and foremost for being a really great friend and second for all the great prezzies!!! I leave you with an action shot of me lovin' Mr. Nanner...

Sorry for the blur but the resident photographer seemed to be having some 'issues' last night. (Ruby's Mom: It's more like you were moving just a little too fast! Ruby: Blah - blah - blah)

It's a Barkday Hoedown!!!

Monday, September 24, 2007

Hey pups...WOW! What a pawty!!! Asta and Bailey's Barkday pawty at the 4B Ranch was just dogtastic. The food, the fun, the dancing...just the bestest!!! I'm not sure how anypup is going to top this pawty.

The day started really early for me when Air Ruby took off...well, I won't bore you with all the details of the who I picked up when, let's just say we picked everyone up and just had a nice relaxing trip. I'm so happy Air Ruby runs on laughter because otherwise it would be real expensive to do as much flying as we do!!!

Here's a few pictures from inside the plane on the way there...
Oh and here is another from the Air Ruby Lounge...pretty sweet, huh?
I tried to get everyone in the picture, but there were a few folks who were out and about the cabin...I think Bussie was in the galley rustlin' up some snacks. Aunty Jez was hiding...all the And Perfect Tosca was just so excited to aboard Air Ruby she was just running about and didn't settle down until we landed at the Ranch!!!

We had perfect travel weather with lots of laughs!!! On the way back well there was LOTS of snoring going on...mostly from me and Suki I think...hee, hee, hee!!!

Asta and Bailey...I hope you had a great Barkday! Thanks so much for the invitation it was rootin tootin good time! Giddy up!

Just another sleepy Sunday...

Sunday, September 23, 2007

After a fantabulous night of Discoing I need to catch up on some sleep and get ready for Asta's big barkday pawty tomorrow...

Sir Chance wanted every pup to show their best mosaic and since sleeping is what I've been doing most of the day I figured that's what I'd do my mosaic about.

I really can't wait for the pawty tomorrow...I'm so very excited! I decided to wear that silly old cowgirl outfit...it' made Mom happy, plus you know me, I'll probably take it off anyway since I don't really like clothes - hee, hee, hee!!!

I think I have everyone's reservations set. To check if you are confirmed on the flight, click here. If for some reason you aren't listed, there is still room (there is ALWAYS room on Air Ruby), so just leave me a comment and I'll make sure to pick you up. See you pups tomorrow...I'm going back to sleep now!!!

Stanny Night Fever

Saturday, September 22, 2007

For Penny and Lola's D*I*S*C*O pawty, first I needed to do my hair...

Do you like? I tried to get it as close to the original as possible.

Next, what to wear...am I the Dancing Queen?

Or is it more Saturday Stanny Night Fever?

All I know is LOTS of THIS will be going on (this is courtesy of Bernard from a couple of weeks ago)! See you all at the pawty!!!

Hoedown Hand me Down...

Friday, September 21, 2007

First things first...I need to know who all needs a 'ride' to the big barkday bash for Asta & Bailey at the 4Bs Ranch. I know a bunch of you have asked, but I want to confirm to make sure I have Air Ruby stocked with enough bully sticks...not having enough bully sticks would be a VERY bad thing!

So I'm trying to figure out what to wear for the big pawty. You know I'm not a huge fan of clothes, but some things I will tolerate. For some reason my Mom got it into her silly head that I should wear her old cowgirl outfit...

My Mom is the one with the attitude on the right, on the left is my Auntie Joey. This was taken back about 250 years ago or something like that. Here's another embarrassing shot...doesn't my Mom know that guns are bad in the hands of people pups? Geeesh....what was my Nanny thinking dressing my Mom and Auntie Joey alike????

Anyhowl...here I am in her stoopid outfit...

What do you pups think? I'm not so sure...maybe I should get something new? Do you think I look OK in red? I'm certainly not wearing that silly little skirt. And dawg, this thing smells like 1972...

Speaking of 1972 Penny and Lola are also having a pawty this weekend...a Disco pawty. Hopefully Mom's not hiding any platform shoes or bell bottoms in her closet!

I LUV UR BLOG!

Thursday, September 20, 2007

Chance and Wally love me, they really love me...actually they love my blog - WOOT!!! And I love their blogs too! Thank you so much...this really means a lot to me!!!

I know a lot of you pups have already gotten this great honor, but I'm going to share this with some (notice I say some because there are LOTS more which I love --- a few have received their awards already) of the blogs me and my Mom really love...

Suki, Joe Stains & Tanner, Nanook & Pooka, Fig, and the new IKEA spokes model, Tadpole. We read your blogs everyday!!! They make us happy when we're sad...They make me and my Mom laugh so much that we cry (but we're not sad)!!! They are inspiring and just downright silly! I LOVE YOUR BLOGS!!!! Thanks for sharing them with me and the world!

Lots of Licks, Ruby (and her Mom too)

Meet Joe Stains...

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

Back a few weeks ago, Ike sponsored this very cool contest based on that crazy popular YouTube video Chocolate Rain. The contest was to create lyrics based on everyone's favorite Boston Terrorist - whoops Terrier, none other than Joe Stains.

The competition was fierce. The submissions were amazing and anyone could have won...but I won!!! Yippee!!! I was so excited and happy!!! Maybe I could have a career is songwriting? Maybe Britney could use my help to revive her career?

Anyhowl, part of winning the contest (aside from all the fame it has brought me) were these fabulous prizes...

I got some very delicious molasses snackies which I'm still loving because Mean Mommy is only letting me have a little at a time. And some pomegranate shampoo and conditioner. Oh...and look what else I got...

My very own award certificate. It even has my name on it!!! Woot...

And it was pawtographed by Ike too!!!

I also got a letter from Ike...I didn't post it because it was personal, you know. But he and his Mom Emily have very good taste...Thanks for the super prizes!!!

Now here's the only thing... the shampoo and conditioner, well, there is no delicate way to say this, but is, um, like, um...made of POMEGRANATE !!! This worries me...a lot...do you know why? I know Lola knows why... Well, that's Tadpole's middle name! I sure hope that my shampoo and conditioner isn't made of, gulp, TADPOLE !!! He hasn't blogged in a few days and I'm not sure if it because he's really busy preparing for his new job OR and I don't want to even think about it, somehow got in my new SHAMPOO !!! Taddy, if you're out there let me know you are ok and NOT in my SHAMPOO !!! I won't be able to use it until I know!!!

Check this out...it's cool!

So I found this really neat picture thingy that will take your picture and convert it to either letters or blocks. It's some geeky thing or some sort of nonsense. But look...the pictures are pretty cool!!!

Original

Letters or what geeks call ASCII

Blocks

Pretty neat, huh? You can try it out at the t.y.p.o.r.g.a.n.i.s.m site.

Tags!!!

Tags! I love tags and in the last week I've been tagged by Maggie Rose and the AO4! Woot!

So Maggie Rose tagged me to list 5 nicknames I have for my Mom. I'm really liking this post because it is a revenge of sorts for the post on my nicknames. I've been thinking real hard about what they are...I know she has a few from when she was a pup and from her friends too, but she wouldn't share them with me...I wonder why??? Maybe I'll have to ask my Nanny when she comes to visit me next month (yes, I'm finally getting to meet my Nanny for the first time next month - I'm so excited!!!).

Anyhowl here we go...

1 - Lady with the Light
So rumor has it, this is what my Auntie Joey and my Mom called my Nanny when my Cuzin Danny was born because my Nanny kept running around with the silly camera all the time flashing it to take pictures. My Mom does EXACTLY the same thing. So annoying!

2 - Mean Mommy
This is for anytime she leaves me, doesn't give me snackies, doesn't let me wander on my walkies or just in general when I am mad.

3 - Woman
OK, I also use this when I'm kinda mad at my Mom, like 'Listen Woman', etc. But lets face it, she is a woman and it does get her attention.

4 - P3U
This stands for my Personal Pooper Picker Upper! Hee, hee, hee!!! I think that is pretty self-explanatory, right?

5 - The Mom
Well, that IS what she is!!!

BONUS NICKNAME!!! And for my Auntie Yvette...Footie Masseuse
That's because she gives me such great footie massages. oooohhhhhh aaaahhhhh...they are just the best.

So that's it for the nicknames. I really am going to try and get her other nicknames at some point and totally embarrass her by posting...hee, hee, hee!!!

OK on to the next tag. The AO4 tag is to name what kind of vehicle we think we are. You have to think of what type of vehicle your personality most resembles. This is fun, right?

So I'm little. I'm cute. I'm sporty and most important...I AM FAST. Introducing Ruby...if I were a car...it's a Mini-Me!!!

Top Speed: 139mph - 0 to 60mph in 6.7 seconds
Woot - That is soooooo me!!!

OK pups...I'm going to tag my BFF Suki, Lorenza, Randi, Sparky, Joe & Tanner and my Stanley for BOTH tags!!! Have fun!!!

Oh, and my prize came from Ike's 'Meet Joe Stains' song contest! I'll post about that tomorrow!!!

The Day After...

Sunday, September 16, 2007

This is what I did...
I guess I had one too many dogaritas or maybe it's a little touch of jet-lag. Who knows...all I know is what a pawsome time we had at Chilli's Adoption Day pawty - Woot!!! I kinda invited myself after a bunch of my pup pals inquired about traveling aboard Air Ruby to get to Singapaw...but Chilli was so gracious and said to come along!!!

The trip on Air Ruby was very cushy...only the best for me and my pup pals, you know. We had lots of toys to play with (including the now illusive Wubba) and my Mom filled up the cabin with LOTS and LOTS of yummy snacks. Air Ruby clocked a lot of miles on this trip...I mean in the US alone we picked up so many pups I can hardly remember who was on the flight - again, maybe that's because of the dogaritas (Suki, next time --- stop me, please).

Even though it was a really long flight, we we rested and ready to play. I immediately went to the volleyball pit to meet up with my Stanny. It was so great to see my Stanny!!! Oh and I finally met Chilli in pawson!!!! Gosh there's just so many fun things we did ...But you know what they say...what happens in Singapaw, stays in Singapaw - hee, hee, hee!

Unfortunately going au naturel to the pawty meant I didn't have anything to put my camera in and since Mom didn't come the only picture I have of the flight was me supervising the loading of all the snackies and toys!!! Can you see me supervising??? I do know that Bernard managed to get a few shots.

So that's it. Happy Adoption Day Chilli, oh and Happy Barkday to Tanner too!!! Next up...Asta & Bailey's Cowboy Pawty next week!!! Woot!

Beach Pawty Express!!!

Thursday, September 13, 2007

I'm soooooo excited! I've been invited to Chilli's Adoption Day Beach Pawty on Saturday!!! Woot! So I'm fueling up Air Ruby and stocking her with snackies and fun toys so we can make the trip to Singapore in style.

Now to decide what to wear...hmmm...at first I thought I would wear a pink bikini...but well, when I got to PetCo, they already had Halloween costumes out and all their bathing suits were gone. Than Mom dug out my grass skirt, but well...I really didn't like it on (but I did like chewing on it - hee, hee, hee). Last option was to go au natural...which as you all know by now is my preference! So I compromised...
I took the lei from my grass shirt outfit...so just enough beachy-islandy...what do you think? Will it work?

Oh and anyone who needs to get to pawty let me know...there is always room on Air Ruby!

And Stanny - I'll see you at the volleyball pit! Woot!

Finally...

After many closed door sessions and much deliberation allow me to introduce you to...
SLEEPY
my new fake brother (NFB)

It took a while for Mom and I to agree. We got lots of great suggestions that my Mom really liked, but after reading about Boo's new little brother Dopey, it just made sense if he had a Dopey, I needed a Sleepy!

And let's face it that's all he does! SLEEP! I tried playing bitey face and chasing him and playing tug...but I got nothing...he just laid there. Oh and boy does he snore! All the time in fact!!! So Sleepy it is! And something weird about Sleepy...he's not here at home...at least not for the last couple of days. I wonder where he went???? Hmmm....

Remembering...

Tuesday, September 11, 2007

My Mom is sad today.
Six years ago today a lot of people died. Including someone she grew up with.
We will always remember this terrible day and never forget all the people who lost their lives.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families today and always.

Remember to fly your flag high today!

I'm Back!!!

Monday, September 10, 2007

Howdy everypup, Girl-Girl and Moosie...
I'm back!!! Thank dog...I know you guys think I'm so lucky about getting to go to the Wag, but I gotta tell you, as nice of a place as it is, I like my home and my bed and my toys...and even though not so much today, even my Mom. Thanks so much for all your comments too...it was nice to see them when I got home...I am so lucky to have such great friends!

So...let's see...I got a good report card...

I like the 'Very Good Dog' comment...don't you? Again Mom was surprised about the medium energy and medium appetite, but like I said...I just wasn't into it and would rather be home. I did make a friend...Luna, she was great. I told her all about you guys.

Mom came and picked me up around 6ish yesterday (Sunday) and I totally gave her the cold paw! I mean I locked her out...no kisses, no rubs...nothing. She needed to know that sending me away (no matter how good her intentions were) is NOT acceptable! I didn't even snuggle to sleep last night. That'll show her! I think she did buy me a prezzie, but I just went to sleep when I went home that I don't know what it is...but trust me, I'll be finding out tonight!

So I guess you want to hear a little about the new people pup...well, he IS a cutie...as far as people pups go. His name is Kristof and he was 8.1 lbs. and 20" long. Mom said he was really good...and slept all night which is pretty good for new people pups I hear. Here's a picture of him...

Oh and here are Nils and Katrina again, this time with their new brother (sorry about the picture quality...apparently the photographer didn't have the flash on...silly woman!)

Look at Katrina...what a silly little people pup she is!!! Both her and Nils really liked their new brother. I think they are going to be really good with him and hopefully they will play fetch and give him lots of belly rubs.

So, that's that...I think I might stay mad at Mom a little while longer...just to make her feel a little more guilt. I'm pretty sure that will get me some extra Frosty Paws and a bully stick. We are WAY behind in reading blogs, but we will be taking the next few days to catch up...don't you worry!

Finally, shout out to Bernard's Dad...he's going in for some surgery tomorrow. Lots of licks and feel better soon!

I'm off...

Friday, September 07, 2007

Hey pups, GG & Moosie...
Just wanted to say 'Have a great weekend' and to think of me often while I'm away at prison. I will miss you all so much...(Ruby's Mom: Ruby, stop being so dramatic...it's just the weekend!)

Fine. I'll see you pups on Monday when mean Mommy comes back (Ruby's Mom: Ruby!!!!!)

OK, gotta go...Lots of Licks, Ruby

Don't forget me...please...writing very tiny so mean Mom doesn't see...

Being a big girl...

Tuesday, September 04, 2007

OK, I'm trying to be a grown up girl about this, but I have to go back to the Wag this weekend. At this point, Mom should probably own stock in the place. I know, I know it's a nice place and all, but I'm a homebody...I like my toys and my bed and my Mom, so sue me.

Anyhowl, you are probably asking... 'WHY this time Ruby?' Another concert? Shopping in San Francisco? Who's getting married now? Nope, let me tell you...

You see these people pups?

The boy pup is Nils and he's almost 7. The girl pup is Katrina and she is 4. They belong to my Auntie Tracey and this weekend Auntie Tracey is going to have another pup so Mom is going to go to San Jose and help her out. Seems Mom was there when both Nils and Katrina were born and she said it just wouldn't be right if she wasn't there for the latest pup's arrival.

I guess I can't stay mad at Mom for that, can I? I mean she's going to help and all and I really like Nils and Katrina. Nils was the first people pup I ever met when I was a wee puppy. He even walked me and played fetch with me (even though I really didn't know what that was at the time)! Katrina is very cute and likes pink just like me! She was a little afraid of me the last time I visited ...but I know I will win her over one day...I mean who couldn't love this face???

So off the the Wag I will go...for 3 whole days (that's a first). I will do it with a smile on my face and a wag in my nubby little tail. I know I can do it and maybe, just maybe Mom might be able to visit Gussied Up (one of the bestest doggie shops EVER) on her way home???? I will leave you with some more pictures of the pups...aren't they just the cutest pups, well except for me - hee, hee, hee!!!

Tag, I'm it!!!

Monday, September 03, 2007

So I've seen this game on a bunch of pups sites, most recently the AO4 and I finally just had to put my paw down and tag myself to play, here goes...

Here are the rules: Use the 1st letter of your name to answer each of the questions. They must be real places, names, things ... If you can't think of anything, skip it. You CAN'T use your name for the boy/girl name question. You take the first letter of your first name, and then answer the questions using only that letter.

What is your name? Ruby
4 letter word: Runs (the good kind, you know running, not the icky sick kind)
Vehicle: Roadster (as in Porsche)
TV Show: Real World
City: Roanoke, Virginia
Boy Name: Roscoe
Girl Name: Rebecca
Alcoholic Drink: Rum & Coke
Occupation: Race Car Driver
Something you wear: Raincoat
Celebrity: Rachael Ray
Food: Rigatoni
Something found in a bathroom: Razor
Reason for being late: Ran out of gas!
Cartoon Character: Roger Rabbit
Something You Shout: Rats!

I know a bunch of pups have already played, but I'm gonna tag my girl Suki and Bernard.

What to do...

Saturday, September 01, 2007

It's soooooo hooooottttt. I mean like a million brazillian hotillion quatillion matt dillon degrees out there. (Ruby's Mom: Actually it's been averaging about 103, so yes, it is hot). At least it isn't as hot as where Joe lives (Ruby's Mom: Where it is 109!). So what's a pup to do when it's so hot and can't go to the park.....

OPEN PREZZIES!!! WOOT!!!

I guess my Mom was holding out...my Nanny sent me some really cool prezzies last week! Here, take a look...

A Wubba...I finally got my very own Wubba!!!

Look at this haul...I got a tire, a squirrel frisbee, a Wubba and a beaver! I see a woodland creature theme here!!!

Here I am on the attack...I'll get you Bruce! Yep, his name is Bruce the Beaver.

Roaching with the Wubba!

Me and Bruce having a chat.

Oh, and here's a video...please excuse my Mom's lack of knowledge in the woodland creature department...silly hoomans! I knew what Bruce was...geeesh!

video

Thanks Nanny! I woof everything and now I have something to do!!!
