OK, maybe not nothing, but things are all about work for Mom which means I don't get to do anything fun anymore. OK maybe I get to go to playcare at The Local Bark, which is fun. OK, it's LOTS of fun.

This is the little pest...this is my new brother...Speeeedy. Shocking, I know. I am the princess, the only dog, but now the little pest lives here too. Hogging up the bed at night and making me share my snackies AND my Mom. What is this world coming to????

'Stressful' Sleepy Sunday

Well not stressful for me...maybe for Mom...and all before 9am! So we wake up, I eats and Mom surprises me with a 'Let's go to the park!!!!' I'm so excitered because I haven't been to the park in AGES! So we gets in the car and off we go.

Once at the park I was a little sad because there were no other doggies there, but that was ok, because Mom was going to call Uncle Sergey and Remmy to come play. So I waited and before long there was this bootiful greyhound girl waiting for me at the fence. We barked a little and decided to run...and run we did. It was a blast!!! Back and forth, back and forth...like for 20 times!!! Mom said something like I must have reminded her of a bunny...or something like that. Mom is so silly, I'm a Boston not a bunny.

Anyhowl, Mom was over filling up the doggie pool and I came by to get a drink. All of a sudden my Mom shrieked (SO embarrassing) and next thing I knew I was back in the car! I was there for all of 15 minutes...SO not fair. So when we got in the car, Mom was wiping my paw which was kinda red and gushy and I noticed that my dew claw was all broken. Oh well...no worries...I can go back and play now, right? But NOOOOOOOO...we drive to the ER vetpires to look at my ouchie. It really didn't hurt I barked to Mom, but she never listens to me.

Sorry for the blurry picture, but it is the best Mom could do...she said I was being too wiggly - Whatever!

Anyway...$80 later, prescription for some antibiotics and the threat of wearing the evil cone, I'm home, totally fine and sleepy. At least I got a bit of a run it before I was so rudely whisked away. My Mom is such a worrier... Mom says she hopes your Sunday is not as exciting as ours!

Hard to believe...

That Ruby is 4 today...and that I've survived (so far) being her Mom! Also that I've actually maintained a blog for 3 years and 540 posts. I'm not sure which is more amazing!!!

It's really hard to remember my life without Ruby...and that's a good thing. It's so nice to come home after a long day at the office to see her bouncy self. The madness of the day just melts away when I look into those big brown eyes. I know I'm probably imagining it, but she seems genuinely happy to see me when I get home and not because there are snackies in her future either. Honestly, she just makes me happy. Even when she's doing something she's not supposed to be doing which being a Boston Terror is quite often!

I've been working a lot lately...more than I really want to and I struggle knowing that Ruby is home by herself all day. But she is so good. No messes, no acting out (mostly). I'm grateful for my best friend Yvette, who from the first day I brought Ruby home, has been there to swoop in to check on Ruby when I can't. I worry that I'm not being fair to Ruby and just being selfish. But I just can't imagine not coming home to her. Plus Yvette reminds me that if I didn't work, I wouldn't be able to keep Ruby living in the style she has become so accustomed to - LOL.

I'd like to take this opportunity to again thank all our blogging friends. My life (and Ruby's) has been truly enriched getting to know you and I really do count you all as my friends. Even though I'm, I mean Ruby, isn't blogging as often, I know you are all still out there and even if I can't visit or comment everyday, I'm, I mean we, are always thinking of you. And as stressful as it will probably be for me to leave Ruby this July, I can't tell you how excited I am that I'm going to get to finally meet some of you in person! I really can't wait!

So here is to another year (and hopefully many many more) with by beautiful pupgirl and another year (and hopefully many many more) of blogging. As Ruby would say...W00t - W00t - W00t!!!

The Knitting of the Prezzies

Now that the holiday is officially over, I thought it was about time I shared with you all the prezzies that I, um I mean we made. And dog, did we make a lot. Let's start with the blankies...

I, um, I mean we made 3 of these. Nanny, Auntie Joey and Auntie Yvette gots them. Yes, I know there are only 2 in the picture, the 3rd one looks just like that brown and green one. Can you see me back there...I was hoping that one of them would be for me...I just love me some blankies.

Next we have scarves...

We made 5 scarves (yes, I can count! There are only four there, I'll show you the other in a second). These scarves went to my cousins Gwen, Kayla, Abby and Danny. Here's the other one...this one went to Auntie Yvette...

Very warm and cozy if I do bark so myself!

Did you notice a funny little creature behind all those scarves...that's Annabelle...the monkey!!!! She had some other friends too...

Joining Annabelle was Archie (they went to live with Hannah & Hayden) and Lollipop the Lion who went to live with my buddy Maddy (Bob's sissy). Here's another shot of Lollipop...

Next we have the cows, at least I thought that's what they were called, but they don't look like any cow I've every seen. Mom says they are cowls not cows...and they keep you warm like scarves. This one went to Miss Jenn, a friend of me and my Mom's.

Last but not least is something I, um I mean we, finished up last night. It's not a late Christmas prezzie, but part of a super top secret gifty thing for Auntie Joey's 40th barkday...shhhh...it's a surprise.

Some fun holiday trivia from Me (well, actually my Mom)

Hey Pups, on this 8th day I thought I'd share some of the ~~useless~~ I mean fun and interesting trivia my Mom found on one of her ~~geeky~~ favorite blogs, Mental Floss.

1) Did you know, Rudolph turned 70 years old this year! I mean seriously, he's 70 and is still guiding Santa Paws sleigh every year. Way to go Rudolph!!!

2) I didn't realize it, but it's not just about Santa Paws...there are other holiday characters out there from around the world. And some of them look mighty scawie that's for sure. Check out that Krampus guy...I'm sure going to be good from now on!!!

3) The first (and only) holiday song to reach #1 on the billboard charts was "The Chipmunk Song"! Really, me and my friends can sure sing better than those silly little chipmunks! Here are a few other holiday 'firsts'.

4) Did you ever wonder where candy canes came from? And I always thought they came from Safeway!!!

5) And last but not least...here's a quiz about the 12 Days of Christmas...not to be confused by my annual 12 posts which of course change every year to keep it interesting - hee hee hee!!!

On the 6th Post of Christmas I'm going to share with thee...

Finally My Special Ruby Tree!

Hello friends...can you believe it, I'm half way through the 12 posts - W00t!!! Six days in a row posting...it's a 2009 record for my Mom! That deserves a W00t - W00t!!!

After deep consultation with my Mom we decided to go 'lite' on the Christmas decorations this year. Between Mom working, all the knitting of the prezzies and me sleepervising there just wasn't much time. Mom was trying to not decorate ANYTHING, but I just wouldn't have it. So we compromised and just put up a few special decorations, our stockings and my Ruby Tree - W00t - W00t - W00t!!! I mean we had to put up my Ruby Tree to show off my brandy new BT hornaments...let's take a look...

First we have this cute little fella...

You may not be able to see from this picture, but he's flat and very very cute. I'm going to dedicate this hornament to Sophie & her Mom in honor of Graham...since he was flat too!

Next we have this one...

He's made of clay and although he doesn't look happy I can totally tell he is...he's just sending ESPn messages to Santa Paws to bring me lots of great prezzies - hee hee hee! Oh and another new addition to my Ruby Tree is lights...can you see them?

Last but not least the most special hornament of 2009...

It's a snowflake...with a Boston!!! Do you know why it is so special??? Well because it was painted by my buddy Emmitt's Mom Melissa!!! It's so soooooooooooo bootiful! I just love it!!! Thanks so much Emmitt & Melissa!!!

Hello everyone!!! Michele here. Hope all is well...I haven't done a meme in a long time...it definitely brought back some memories. If you have the time and your pups let you blog about it, would love for you to share your answers!!!!

1. Eggnog or hot chocolate? Peppermint Hot Chocolate!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped

3. Colored lights on the tree/house or white? Tiny white lights on tree...none on house

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No

5. When do you put your Christmas decorations up? They are still not up ;)

6. Favorite holiday dish? Mom's turkey stuffing...only have around Thanksgiving/Christmas. My mint brownies which I ONLY make for Christmas.

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? The year I got my Mrs. Beasley doll...I still have her (in pieces) in a box in my garage!

8. When did you learn the truth about Santa? There’s no Santa? Really???

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? As kids, we could always open one gift on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas day. I still do that.

10. How do you decorate a tree? With lots of different types of ornaments. No two the same. When I travel or friends travel, I ask them to bring me something back so I have LOTS of very fun and unique ornaments.

11. Snow! Love it or dread it? I live in CA now to be away from the snow!!!!

12. Can you ice skate? Many, many, many, many years ago...I thought I was Dorothy Hamill, but I really wasn't. Not even close. I could barely stand up (LOL)

14. What is the most important thing about the holidays to you? Right now, getting some much needed time off!

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? my mint brownies

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Eating bagels, lox and potato perogies on Christmas Eve...a blending of my Mom and Dad's families.

17. What tops your tree? When the tree is up either a Tweety Bird angel OR a Tazmanian Devil angel...I alternate ;)

18. Which do you prefer-Giving or Receiving? Giving...and as long as they come out nice, I like to make something...seems more personal.

19. Favorite Christmas song? Carol of the Bells, but the instrumental, not with vocals.

20. Candy Canes-Yuck or Yum? YUM!!!

21. Favorite Christmas show? Charlie Brown Christmas...I can so relate to Charlie Brown!

22. Saddest Christmas song? I wouldn't say it was the saddest, but Silent Night always makes me cry for some reason

A Happy Barkday to Bob and my Macky!!!

That's right, today is the barkday of two of my most favorite doggies in the whole wide world...my best buddy Bob and my most wonderful boyfriend Mack!!!!

Bob and I always have lots and lots of fun when he visits. Bob's really a good guy, because sometimes I'm not very nice to him or share my toys with him, but he still hangs out with me!!! Happy Barkday Bob...thanks for being my friend, putting up with me and I'm so happy your are feeling better - W00t!

On the 1st post of Christmas I'm going to share with thee...
What's been going on with ME!!!!

Greetings all my wonderful blogging friends and welcome to my 3rd annual 12 Posts of Christmas - W00t! It's the one time of year I am successful at making my Mom feel sooooooo guilty that she posts 12 straight days in a row - W00t, W00t, Woot!!!

Well, I hate to admit, life at Chez Ruby Bleu has been kinda boring lately. No big adventures, no excitering vistors. Just me and Mom hanging out. And Mom working lots and lots :(

Actually the last few weeks or so, have been a flurry of activities (and speaking of flurries...we gots a little snow in Sac-of-Tomatos last week)! I've been very busy supervising the making of the Christmas gifties!!! We've been making scarves and sweaters and blankies and monkeys - W00t. I asked Mom to let me post some pictures of what we have made, but she said I needed to wait so I wouldn't spoil any Christmas giftie surprises...sorry.

Next we are gearing up to decorate (I know, I know...December 14th and still no tree up...not sure WHAT Mom is waiting for) and we are going to be baking soon too - W00t!!! That means some major taste testing for me - W00t-W00t!!!

Also, I'm very excitered because this is Mom's last week of work for the rest of the year...actually she says she still needs to work, but she's just going to do it at home...with me!!! That's a pretty nice thing to look forward to, huh?

As you can see...things have been pretty low key for us...but that's OK, anytime I get to snuggle with my Mom (even if she is sitting on the couch reading her work email or knitting) is time well spent for me!!!

Anyhowl...that's about it...Mom is getting ready to knit some more which means there's some yarn for me to munch on!!!! See ya tomorrow for Day 2!!!

Oh, I almost forgots...I've got a Bob update...he's at home and feeling better. Whatever was stuck in his tummy and making him sick managed to escape the 'natural way' if you know what I mean. He's home and resting comfortably! Thanks for the healing vibes...now we just need to keep sending them to Wally, ok?

Hello my friends...hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Me, I'm busy making preparations for my traditional '12 Posts' and of course napping. I really wish there were some kind of napping award, because surely I'd win it! Mom, well, the woman is a knitting machine...fortunately (as best I can tell) not a doggie sweater in sight - whew!

Any howl, I have a HUGE favor to ask...can you please send some major healing vibes to my best buddy Bob? He's having tummy problems and may have to have an operation!!!! Mom and I are waiting to hear and we are really worried. We're also worried about Wally too who has been feeling very poorly the last few days. I know we've been sending lots and lots of healing vibes around...it's amazing we don't all run out!!!

So I don't have thumbs, and I can't write so I rely on my Mom to not only type my blog posts (of which there haven't been a lot because she has been ~~lazy~~ busy) but also for addressing my DWB holiday cards. Well, I'm happy to report that Mom is finally done addressing and stamping all my cards!!! W00t!!! And she assures me that by the time she comes home from work today she will have mailed them. I sure hope she does...I mean I've been getting cards from all my friends left and right...I'm starting to feel a wee-bit guilty that I haven't gotten them out yet!!!! Seriously, if I could hold a pen they would have been out 2 weeks ago!!!!

Anyhowl...thank you...I so love getting cards and there have been some really good ones. For your viewing pleasure (and for my embarrassment) here's an outtake from my holiday card photoshoot. I'm only posting it because I know you are all my friends and won't make (too much) fun of me.

My Mom found this news thingy on one of her most favoritest interwebs sites Mental Floss (I think she reads it to make her smart...BOL! Not working too well now is it?!?!?!). Anyhowl, researchers have found that us doggies may actually prevent asthma in people pups!!!! How great is that!!!!

“Several longitudinal studies have shown that exposure to certain domestic animals, for example, indoor dogs, during a person’s early life (even possibly before he or she is born) is associated with strong protection against asthma and asthma-related conditions later in life,” Serrine Lau, a member of the research team said.

I always knew we were getting a bad rap on that one!!!

Ahhhh...finally back on track with the numbering. Mom lost it in September (gee, and I thought she lost it a while ago - hee, hee, hee)

I got 2 wonderful surprises so far this weekend and I've been told there are more to come this week - W00t!!!

1) Mom told me she's home ALL WEEK!!!! Can you believe it? I know I hardly can...she's been working so hard lately that she really deserves this and SO DO I!!!! Maximum snuggle time here we come!

2) Next surprise was that Auntie Yvette came to visit me yesterday!!!! I haven't seen her for over a week! I just loves it when she comes over and gives me my belly rubs.

So I guess surprise # 3 is coming later today and then there will be more this week....OMD, I can hardly wait...I wonder what they will be? I better go nap (and dream lots of pawsitive thoughts for Snickers) and rest up for the rest of my surprises!!!! Happy Sleepy Sunday friends!!!!

I know you all have been waiting to hear about my mini-vacation...but as usual, I'm waiting for my Mom who is too busy, yet again, to stop working and help me post! I'm really getting tired of this and I would complain much more except at least she is coming home from a long day at work and playing with me! OMD, OMD...my Mom just told me something great today!!!! One week from today, me, Mom, Auntie Kelly and Auntie Yvette are all going on a trip!!!! We're going on a girls weekend!!!! We're going to the beach!!!

OMD...I'm just so excitered I can't stand it!!!! I've never been to the beach...wonder what's it's like???? Do I have to wear a swim suit??? I'm not sure this totally makes up for us not blogging...but Mom is sure headed in the right direction!!!

In other news....we had a really bad storm the other day....look at my backyard...

A tree broke our patio table!!! Mom is very happy that is all that broke and not like the windows or the house. Alex, my gardener friend, came and took the nasty tree away...thank dogness! But it was scawie when it happened...but I was very, very brave.

OK, that's it for now...in case you don't remember what I look like when I'm awake (BOL)...here I am and I promise to make Mom take LOTS of pictures of me at the beach!!! OMD --- I CAN'T WAIT - W00t!!!
